Advanced Strategic Storytelling is a specialized Capstone course designed for students aspiring to careers in creative industries, including advertising, public relations, marketing, and journalism.
Throughout the fifteen-week semester, I collaborated with Dr. Robert Cargill, a renowned scholar specializing in Biblical Studies, Hellenistic Judaism, Archaeology, and Biblical Languages (featured on The History Channel), to develop a comprehensive social media strategy for the University of Iowa's Bible & Archaeology Department.
My role involved conducting a thorough social media audit, identifying areas for improvement such as brand consistency, content engagement, and overall online presence. To enhance their YouTube channel, I spearheaded the creation of two engaging animated sequences:
Channel Intro/Outro: A dynamic ten-second animated introduction and outro to establish a strong brand identity for the channel.
Resource Page Animation: An animated backdrop for the department's resource page, featuring a pinned video from their channel and a clickable button linking to their Patreon page for exclusive content.
This project presented a significant learning opportunity, as I ventured into the realm of motion graphics using Adobe After Effects, developing a new skillset and expanding my creative capabilities
